Excerpt snippet #9 Nov. 16

He extracted his hand but not before I noticed his long, graceful, and manly fingers, with sprinkles of blond hair. They spoke of strength.

“You speak our language, outsider. Where are you from? Your skin is dark but lighter than a Moor.”

Something was very wrong.

I furrowed my brow. “I-I’m from Los Angeles.”

He rubbed his chin. “Is that across the sea? Their customs are strange. It would explain your odd clothing and your different dialect.”

“What is this place called?”

He tightened his lips before answering. “Ireland.”

Panic set in, my heart pounding.

“How the hell did I get to Ireland?” I blurted before I could stop myself, though this fantastical elven place didn’t resemble any pictures I’d seen of Ireland, past or present.
