nearly 20 years of writing and editing experience, Kelley Heckart’s writing
focus is steamy, paranormal romance novels. The author of 13 full-length
novels, Kelley cleverly plays on the page using fantasy and paranormal elements
throughout ancient, medieval, and contemporary timelines.
Her romance novels are filled with history, mythology, and mysticism. She creates bold characters and tells stories through the eyes of fierce warriors, powerful women, gods and goddesses, faeries and vampires, and beyond. These characters are intertwined with one another through captivating, sensual storytelling that draws the reader in.
Inspired by strong female heroines — including Xena Warrior Princess, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Joan Jett — and, at times, by her own background as a rock-n-roll musician, Kelley is also inspired by true stories from ancient times. Still, she prefers to craft her ideas and characters around the supernatural. She thrives when using her gift of fantasy and romance. Her most recent series, the Dark Goddess Trilogy, includes Cat’s Curse, Beltaine’s Song, and Winter’s Requiem, which are set in Scotland during the Dark Ages. Based on the story of a real Irish prince who was a feared warlord, they weave historical accuracy with fantasy and tell a story of unlikely romance between tortured souls.
When not writing or editing, Kelley enjoys practicing target archery and writing and recording music with her musician husband. For more than 10 years, she has acted as a book editor who specializes in developmental, content, and copy edits.
Her Shadow-walkers series is inspired by her love of the supernatural and her rock-n-roll days playing bass in an all-female progressive metal band. The five young women of Hecate’s Fury are more than rock stars. They are Shadow-walkers, chosen to help the supernatural world. There’s just one problem. No one trained them.
Her Arcadia series, which includes The Bear Goddess, The Wolf Queen, and The Crow Maiden is based on popular Greek myths. Three powerful women. Three men dared to love them.
