Arcadia Series

The World in My Arcadia Series

My series is set during the Bronze Age in Arcadia in the Erymanthos Mountains, Artemis's mythical, wild veiled forests, where an abundant number of otherworldly creatures—nymphs, satyrs, centaurs, werewolves, vampires, gods, goddesses, sorcerers, and crow women— exist within the pines, oaks, and hidden waterfalls. Artemis's nymphs were fierce warriors who guarded her secrets.

Once ruled by priestess-queens and used to worshipping a Mother Goddess, the Minoans and other native peoples of the Aegean came under the rule of the patriarchic Hellenes (Greeks) who worshipped Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades and sought to destroy the reign of the Great Goddesses, which included Artemis.

Though the Achaeans embraced some of the old “Cretan” ways and worshipped goddesses alongside their gods, the goddesses were given a lower status.

It was the iron-wielding Dorians, the last of the Hellenes tribes, who managed to conquer the old ways of the goddesses.

Artemis and her beliefs still exist in Arcadia.
