Favorite TV show: The Originals
I enjoy this spin-off of the Vampire Diaries mainly because of Klaus, the troubled vampire/werewolf hybrid of the Mikaelson family. Joseph Morgan plays him well. With Klaus in the family, there is always some kind of conflict happening to keep my attention. He’s the guy you love to hate.

Artemis the the Greek goddess of the hunt, wild animals, childbirth, and virginity. She refused to wed any of Zeus’s brothers, which is one of reasons I like her so much—she was fiercely independent. She is often depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows. Another think I like since I have taken up archery. Her Roman equivalent is Diana. ARTEMIS: She is the Goddess of untamed nature. Central to her worship are ecstatic dances and the
sacred bough, probably derived from ancient moon tree worship, the source of immortality, secret
knowledge and inspiration. Artemis assists females of all species in childbirth and gave the name artemisia
to the medicinal herb now called mugwort, which is used to encourage delivery. She was worshipped
throughout Greece, but was most popular in Arcadia where she lived in the wild forests and was the most
virginal of the Goddesses. Another important site for her worship was Ephesus in Anatolia where her
qualities of Mother Goddess were emphasized. Two early forms of Artemis were Britomaris of eastern
Crete and Diktynna of western Crete. In Olympian myths Artemis is Apollo’s sister and she takes on the
role of patron of hunters.

Favorite new TV series: The Lizzie Borden Chronicles
This is a new series on LMN. I wasn’t sure about watching it at first because I didn’t see how they could continue it after she allegedly murders her parents, but I decided to check it out. It seems the creators are doing a fictionalized story and portraying her as a serial killer, which is kind of cool. Christina Ricci does a great job and so far I like it.

Favorite book: Game of Thrones
I’ve been a fan of the HBO series Game of Thrones and decided to read the books. I’m reading the first one titled Game of Thrones and love it. It is so well-written and engaging, it’s hard to put down. The characters are very vivid. I can see why they decided to make a cable series.

Favorite new TV show: iZombie
A medical student finds that being a zombie has its perks, which she uses to assist the police.

So far I really like this new CW show. It’s funny and has serious moments, which reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s refreshing to watch a zombie show that isn’t so dark all the time.

My Review:
Not a fantasy, but a real depiction of life in Dark Age Britain

Morgan Llywelyn is one of my favorite authors. That being said, this wasn't my favorite book of hers, but I still enjoyed it. I like how she handles the beginning of the Dark Ages in Britain after the Roman legions leave. There is nothing to tell us what really happened, and her story, how she shows what the people must have endured, is believable enough. Dinas is a flawed main character and that's okay. People aren't perfect. I liked Cadogan better, but he wasn't perfect either. That's probably what I like about Ms. Llywelyn: she keeps it real. What I had a problem with was the comma errors, lots of them. I still recommend this book for historical fantasy readers, especially those interested in Dark Age Britain.

Favorite book: The Horse Goddess by Morgan Llywelyn

Favorite movie: Bram Stoker’s Dracula

This is one of my favorite versions of Dracula. I thought Gary Oldman did a great job in the starring role, how he changed from young to old. I’m not a Winona Ryder fan. Not sure why, but I never liked her acting, so that was my only disappointment with this movie. This version of Dracula reveals the hidden sexuality in the original story using vivid colors and sensual scenes. Highly recommended for Dracula fans.

Favorite new TV Show: 12 Monkeys
Series description: 27 years after a virus wipes out most of humanity, scientists send a man (James Cole) back to 2015 to stop the plague from ever happening. Cole's only lead is a virologist (Dr. Cassandra Railly), who knows the dangerous source of the outbreak.
I loved the movie version with Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeline Stowe, so I was curious how the SyFy series would handle this story. So far I like what they are doing with it. Time travel opens up a lot of possibilities for storylines.
